Build the AI literacy your people actually need to do their jobs well — confidently, responsibly, and within the rules. We deliver functional AI literacy training to UK, European, and global organisations of every type and size: corporates, charities, professional bodies, public sector, and start-ups.
From £5 self-paced courses to bespoke leadership programmes, our training is led by Professor Sue Turner OBE and grounded in real-world board, executive, and operational experience.
What functional AI literacy actually means
Most “AI literacy” training stops at definitions and headlines. That ticks a compliance box but it does not change how people work. We focus on functional AI literacy: the practical knowledge, judgement, and confidence your people need to use AI well in their day-to-day roles.
That means understanding what AI can and cannot do, spotting where it adds value and where it adds risk, asking better questions of vendors and outputs, and knowing when to escalate. It is training that respects your people’s intelligence and meets them where they are.
What your people will walk away with
- A clear, jargon-free understanding of how today’s AI systems work and where they fail
- Confidence to use AI tools safely and to challenge outputs that look wrong
- The right questions to ask suppliers, colleagues, and AI itself
- Awareness of bias, accuracy, data protection, copyright, and reputational risk
- An understanding of how AI literacy supports your obligations under the EU AI Act, UK regulators’ guidance, and sector-specific rules
- Practical habits that stick after the session ends
Who this is for
We work with UK, European, and global organisations of all types and sizes. That includes listed companies, privately held businesses, charities, membership organisations, regulators, professional bodies, and the public sector. Our training is shaped to your audience, whether that is the whole workforce, a specialist function, the executive team, or the board.
How we deliver it
We offer a full ladder of AI literacy training so you can match the format and the depth to your need and your budget.
Self-paced online courses (from £5)
Short, on-demand courses your people can take at their desk. Topics include AI for leaders, AI agents, harnessing the power of ChatGPT, and AI for membership organisations. Ideal for rolling out a baseline of AI literacy across a whole team. Browse our online courses.
Live workshops (from £495)
Facilitated, interactive sessions delivered online or onsite. Our flagship “Find the right AI for your business” workshop helps leadership teams move from paralysis to action. See upcoming workshops.
Board and executive briefings
Sessions can be as short as a 60-minute board briefing or run as a half-day deep-dive. We tailor the content to your sector, your strategy, and the questions your board is wrestling with. Learn about board development.
Bespoke organisational programmes
For organisations that need a structured rollout across multiple functions or sites, we design blended programmes that combine self-paced learning, live workshops, and leadership coaching. Get in touch to scope a programme.
AI literacy and the EU AI Act
Article 4 of the EU AI Act requires providers and deployers of AI systems to take measures to ensure a sufficient level of AI literacy among their staff and other people operating or using AI systems on their behalf. The detail of what “sufficient” looks like will continue to develop, and the obligation reaches well beyond EU-headquartered organisations: if you offer AI-enabled services into the EU market or use AI in ways that affect people in the EU, you are likely in scope.
Our position is straightforward. Compliance is the floor, not the ceiling. Training designed only to tick the Article 4 box rarely changes behaviour, and behaviour is what regulators, customers, and your own risk register actually care about. We help you build AI literacy that supports your compliance position and makes your people genuinely better at their jobs. If you would like a steer on how our training maps to your specific obligations, talk to us.
Your facilitator
Training is led by Professor Sue Turner OBE, founder of AI Governance Limited. Sue is a Visiting Professor at the University of Bristol, a serial chair and non-executive director, and a recognised authority on AI governance. She has spent her career helping leaders make better decisions about technology, and she brings that boardroom and operational experience into every session.
For larger programmes, Sue is supported by a network of specialist associates in AI ethics and behavioural change.
Frequently asked questions
What is AI literacy?
AI literacy is the knowledge, skills, and judgement people need to use AI systems responsibly and effectively in their work. It covers what AI is, what it can and cannot do, how to spot risks, and how to make better decisions about when and how to use it.
Do we need AI literacy training to comply with the EU AI Act?
If you provide or deploy AI systems and your activity touches the EU, Article 4 of the EU AI Act requires you to ensure a sufficient level of AI literacy among the relevant staff. Training is one of the main ways organisations evidence that, alongside policies and oversight. We can help you design a programme that supports your compliance position, but we recommend you take your own legal advice on scope.
How much does AI literacy training cost?
Self-paced online courses start at £5. Live workshops start at £495 per place. Board briefings, executive sessions, and bespoke organisational programmes are priced on scope. Contact us for a quote.
Can the training be delivered in person?
Yes. Workshops, board briefings, and bespoke programmes can be delivered onsite at your offices in the UK or further afield, or online for distributed teams. Self-paced courses are online only.
Do you only work with UK organisations?
No. We work with UK, European, and global clients of every type and size. Sessions are delivered in English and are designed to be useful in any jurisdiction, with regional regulatory context added where relevant.
How is your training different?
We focus on functional AI literacy, not box-ticking. Sessions are led by an experienced board director and academic, grounded in real organisational decisions, and designed so that what people learn shows up in how they actually work.
Can you train our whole organisation?
Yes. For larger rollouts we typically combine self-paced courses for breadth with live sessions for leaders and high-risk functions. We will help you scope a programme that fits your headcount, budget, and risk profile.
