We carry out original research on how organisations govern artificial intelligence, and we conduct commissioned research for clients who need clear evidence to inform their AI decisions. Our work is grounded in real boardroom and operational experience and serves organisations in the UK, Europe, and globally.

The AI Governance Report 2022

Our 2022 AI Governance Report was a first-of-its-kind study of how ready boards were to control the use of AI in their organisations. We surveyed more than 700 leaders across all sectors in the summer of 2022, with four supporting case studies to inspire action.

The report gave policy-makers, organisation leaders, and executive education providers a clear picture of how prepared leaders were to govern the use of AI in their organisations. Many of its findings remain strikingly relevant today: the gap between the speed of AI adoption and the maturity of governance practice has, if anything, grown.

The report was inspired by the third pillar of the then UK Government’s National AI Strategy, which sought to establish an AI governance framework within a light-touch regulatory environment. To deliver this, organisation leaders needed to understand and use frameworks, standards, and best practice in how they govern AI use across their organisations and supply chains.

Commissioned research for clients

We conduct bespoke research for organisations who need a clear evidence base before they invest, change direction, or take a position publicly. Common types of work include:

  • AI use-case scoping: identifying and prioritising the AI opportunities most relevant to your sector and strategy.
  • Sector and market scans: reviewing how AI is being adopted, governed, and regulated across a sector you serve or operate in.
  • AI maturity benchmarking: assessing your AI capability and governance against peers, frameworks, and good practice.
  • AI vendor and partner research: finding and assessing potential AI partners, suppliers, and tools.
  • Board and leadership readiness research: understanding how prepared a leadership group, profession, or membership body is to govern AI.
  • Policy and regulatory analysis: structured reviews of how UK, EU, and international AI regulation may affect your business.
  • Thought-leadership reports: evidence-based reports for membership organisations, professional bodies, and regulators who want to lead the conversation.

Each engagement is scoped around the question you need answered. Pricing is on application. Contact us to discuss what you have in mind.
