Are you worried that AI could take your job? Do you know how to harness the power of generative AI like ChatGPT and use it to advance your career? This self-paced online course is designed to provide leaders in all types and sizes of organisations with the information and knowledge to understand what artificial intelligence (AI) is so they are ready to look seriously at using AI in their organisations. No prior knowledge of AI is needed; the course uses straight-forward language to describe the key concepts so it is accessible to leaders no matter what their background.

Through 17 video tutorials you will gain the skills to:

  • Confidently identify some of the different types of AI
  • Spot some of the myths about artificial intelligence
  • Summarise why AI is so prevalent in 2020s
  • Explain how AI is changing organisations

The exercises and case studies were very useful, bringing the learning to light and giving useful insight into practical AI uses that might be good for any business.

You will experiment with different AI tools and find out about many different uses of AI in organisations today. There are quizzes so you can check your understanding and in the final module you will develop practical plans to take forward AI in your organisation and plan the next stage in your own development.

The length of the modules is great – I can complete one over lunch – and the quizzes reassure me about how much I’m learning.

Course Content

Introduction
This short lesson introduces students to the course. There's a link to a video for you to view to give a (humorous) historical perspective!

What is AI?
Through this lesson, trying out AI tools and a quiz you'll build your understanding of what AI is, giving you the foundations for thinking about how you might use AI in your organisation. At the end of this module you should be confident in giving a definition of AI and you'll be able to summarise the reasons why AI is so prevalent in 2020s.

Myth Busting
Learn about 11 myths that have grown up around AI. These two lessons will help you be clearer about what we do and don't mean when we talk about AI. There's a quiz to check your understanding too.

Types of AI
This topic looks at some of the different types of AI in two lessons

Now you get to see AI working in real life and get your hands of with AI tools

Algorithms and models
Two lessons where you'll find out what we really mean by algorithms and models in AI
